Miles Reuben
Miles Reuben is a Detroit native filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer. He is a Wayne State University alumni. He combines his observations of his environment and the diverse people of Detroit with his admiration of science fiction, comic books, and early 2000’s Cartoon Network’s Toonami shows, all while centering his work through the lens of blackness. Miles has directed a number of short narrative films and commercial documentaries including the critically acclaimed NILE: A Visual Embodiment of a Sonic Experience which went on to be selected in 12 Film Festivals, including Detroit Narrative Agency. He is the curator of FilmToy Studios, which strives not only to create films that are inclusive on screen and behind it, but also to provide access to anyone who wishes to come in and explore their own path within filmmaking.
We Are Culture Creators
We are Culture Creators is a media art collective and label that features up and coming young artists from Detroit. Some artists associated with the collective include Demaciiio, Supreme Flows, Barlitos, Curtis Roach, Iso, and Station 999. Collectively members have been featured on Vibe Magazine, OkPlayer, The Source, Metro Times, HBO and Music on the Road. Currently, the label is cultivating Detroit’s new wave.
