Joe Faris
Joe has taken the first step towards establishing an apparel industry in southeastern Michigan with the creation of Motor City Design Co. The brand is "Born in Michigan" and "Made in U.S.A.", the collection is a mix of high-fashion elements with an industrial edge. Motor City Design is created and constructed entirely in Michigan.
A former Project Runway Season 5 contestant, Joe made it to the Top 6 out of 16 Designers which granted him a showing at Bryant Park New York Fashion Week Project Runway Season 5 Final Fashion Show.
Joe has already positively impacted the community by creating media attention that is Nationally turning-around Detroit’s reputation as an industrial city in decline and redefining Detroit’s Garment Industry. The Local clothing designer nationally known for his work in season five of Lifetime Television’s “Project Runway” is putting his weight behind an effort to firmly entrench the Motor City on the fashion map.
Alice Smith
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, sculptor Alice Smith came to Detroit to study glass at CCS and received her MFA from WSU in 1995.
Taylor Fernandez
Taylor Fernandez is a 16-year-old singer/songwriter who performs at festivals, charity events, and more all over the state of Michigan. She currently attends school at Interlochen Arts Academy as a singer/songwriter. She released an extended promo in February 2012, which is for sale below and on iTunes. Taylor plays guitar, piano, and ukulele.
