Ian Zapico
Ian Zapico is a 26-year-old Metro-Detroit native, who is a professional glass blower. Zapico teaches glass blowing classes at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit. Zapico attended the College for Creative Studies, and there he honed in on some of his other artistic skills. Zapico also draws, and paints on his glass sculptures – to create a different and original feel.
Comedy Sportz Detroit
Comedy Sportz Detroit is an audience engaging improv comedy show that has been in the Detroit area since 1984 and is a certified Woman Owned Business. The brand – Comedy Sportz – is a licensed show that is performed in 28 cities across the U.S. and parts of Europe. Using audience members as a part of the show, Comedy Sportz Detroit makes the improv show fun and exciting for everyone.
Tumbao Bravo
Formed in August 2003 by reedman Paul VornHagen and conguero Alberto Nacif, this exciting Cuban jazz combo has released five critically acclaimed CDs of mostly original compositions that have been featured on all the major jazz public radio stations throughout the U.S. Winner of the 2005, 2007 and 2013 Detroit Music Awards for Best Jazz Recording and Best World Music Band, this combo has performed at all the major Michigan jazz/music festivals. The title cut of their 2009 CD was used as a soundtrack for the USA Network TV show, Burn Notice. In September 2017, the band released their 5th CD, “El Nido-The Nest”.
